Small tanks are usually sold with lighting that is adequate for seeing the fish and useless for growing anything. This clip-on unit fixes that at 5w, with a 10000-12000K colour temperature in the range plants actually respond to - and it draws so little power that leaving it on a timer costs next to nothing.
It clips onto the side of the tank and is fastened using the provided screw, and the bracket slides anywhere along the rim so you can position the light over a planted corner rather than the middle. The compact size also makes it a sensible choice for sump usage in a Marine set up as well as small tropical and planted fish tanks.
