AllPondSolutions 36w Pond & Aquarium UV Steriliser CUV-236

Sterilisers are usually specified at a single flow figure, which is unhelpful when your pump sits well above it. The AllPondSolutions CUV-236 is rated across a range instead - a minimum of 6000L/H and a maximum of 10000L/H - so there is room to run a larger pump without pushing the unit past its limits.

Contact time is protected by the design. A special helix inside the case makes water spin as it travels rather than running straight through, keeping it exposed to the UV for longer before it reaches the outlet. That more-even exposure is what increases efficiency, and it is why the Ultra Violet Clarifier remains a key element of a well filtered clear water system.

Unlike most sterilisers this one has three inlet / outlet's, which is very useful if you want to run the output to a two-fall waterfall, or to a waterfall and a filter together. Three stepped hosetails are included to fit a variety of hose sizes, and a transparent centre panel lets you check that the UV is fully operational at all times. A separate glass viewport is also supplied, which can replace one of the hosetails for use as a one-in / one-out unit.

Advanced thermal protection shuts the unit down automatically if it is in danger of overheating, restarting it once it has cooled to normal temperature. To avoid reaching that point, locate the unit somewhere sensibly cool rather than in direct sunlight or a hot, humid, enclosed area.
