AllPondSolutions 2000L/H + 9W UV Aquarium External Filter EFX+

The EFX+ sits at the top of the rebuilt EF range of external fish tank filters from AllPondSolutions, running 2000L/H with a 9W UV steriliser integrated into the head. Everything we changed across the range applies here at the largest scale.

Those changes address the things that actually go wrong over years of continuous running. Priming is easier and more consistent than on the previous range, and the body has been redesigned to be stronger and more durable. Fittings were reworked specifically for marine fish keepers so they survive longer in a salt water environment. Every filter now carries a full 2 years warranty for that extra peace of mind.

The integrated UV steriliser has a more easily accessible UV switch and an improved on/off indication light. Its safety mechanism is now activated purely by magnet, which avoids any kind of mechanical failure of this function.

Filtration itself is multi-stage: aquarium water travels through multiple internal layered baskets filled with assorted filter media material, providing extremely thorough biological, mechanical and chemical filtration.

Every external in the range works exactly as our internal powerhead filters do, but is designed to be positioned outside the tank. Water is drawn in through an inlet tube and returned crystal clear through an outlet tube (both supplied). The outlet carries a spray-bar to help increase oxygen aeration levels within the tank. Keeping the unit outside is ideal for freeing up space within the tank and provides a huge internal capacity for filter media, making these filters suitable for larger volume tanks.

Ceramic rings, bio balls, coarse foam and fine floss filter foam are supplied with each model. Filtering through the provided media gives a vastly improved level of waste-free water through extremely strong biological purification, and the easy-access layered baskets make it simple to customise your media choices to suit your aquarium and fish livestock needs.

Maintaining the filter is very simple. The drip-free shut-off tap allows you to remove the filter and transport it away from the aquarium fish tank to an area more suitable for cleaning. Each basket lifts smoothly out of the unit, rinses through easily and returns to continue its operation.

Please note the pipework skimmer part included on the packaging is NOT included and might differ from the pipework provided with the filter. This does not affect the filter’s functionality.
